Image change for massage therapy

When you think of massage therapy what image comes to mind? A relaxing spa on a cruise ship or casino? While this may be true, Massage therapy has gone through an image change over the last 25 years.
Massage therapy has become a part of the health care community. The two most common reasons why people seek massage therapy are stress relief and chronic pain.
The reason clients keep coming back is because massage therapy addresses the cause of these issues. Factors that are contributing to this image change, are standards and regulations such as post graduate education, a code of ethics, and a license for therapists that pass a national boards exam.
Even some health insurance companies are choosing to include massage therapy in their coverage plans. However you don’t need to have chronic pain to benefit from massage therapy.
A once or twice a month maintenance plan will help prevent injuries, and chronic pain from occurring in the first place. It is fair to consider massage as an overall maintenance plan for your health
