Top Secrets for Achieving Longevity
There have been many studies over the years involving the longest living people on the planet, and how they became so healthy. but lets take a closer look and see exactly what all of these populations have in common.
1. stay active- We have all heard the term use it or lose it, but it really is true. Try to stay active at all costs. If you can walk 2 miles a day when your 50, and continue to do it every day, there is no reason why you will not be able to do it into your 80’s.
2. Find your life purpose- When you love what you do every day, you automatically become a person filled with passion and gusto. This attitude is is contagious to the people around you, and really sets you up for longevity.
3. Take a break in the middle of the day- yes this is a tough one, but the benefits are amazing. When you take a 10 minute break in the middle of the day just to relax and breathe deep you may find that you have a great burst of energy, and even feel more at peace.
4. 80% rule don’t over eat- In Okinawa “where people have achieved the most longevity” they have a rule that you eat until you are 80 percent full. this is with good reason because caloric restriction has shown to increase life span in all animals including humans.
5.Go green- While it is important to eat all food groups, including protein, carbohydrates, and fat to be healthy. You can benefit so much from adding more green food into your diet. All green food is packed with vitamins and minerals, enzymes, and other micro-nutrients that the body needs to perform at optimal levels.
6. Family Matters- Maintaining a close social network with friends, and Family is an essential and often overlooked part of overall health. You cannot disregard the mind body and spirit connection if you ever hope to become truly healthy!
